If you are looking at this, my advice is buy them and try them. Replaced my Chinese original tubes in my phono-preamp that were hollowed out in the mid range. The GE 5654W tubes are amplifying a Dynavector dv10x5 HOMC on an RP6 Very clean even tonal balance throughout the audible range, deep bass, fast cymbals, fluid guitars and vocals. Exceptional sound stage with focused positioning, attack and very detailed nuances, especially vocals. I kept them on for the first week to burn them in properly, both tubes are settled in and very well matched.

Not sure who writes these reviews but to my ears the Chinese tubes sound way better. These brings the mid range but not to a good level. The bass is boxy and soundstage primitive. Swapped back to the Chinese. At the end of the day there are about to be a third nation in the world with cognitive abilities to lift tones of metal into high orbits with humans.

I find these GE tubes a little sharper (in a good way) and punchier than the Mulllard M8100's they replaced in my Little Dot mk3. The Mullard's are very good, but a little smooth for my taste. I also tried the GE's in a FX-Audio tube buffer where the impact on sound was more dramatic than the mk3. No suprise as the FX-Audio is supplied with 6J1's.

I bought these to upgrade the cheap Chinese valves in my Nobsound Turntable Pre Amp which worked ok but I thought there was something missing in the sound quality especially in the mid range. These valves sound so much better than the original ones the mid range sounds are back female voice and drums sound excellent ! Buy a pair you won't be disappointed.

They are as advertised and do seem to be genuine GE NOS military grade and well matched. Not much else to say since the permanence of valves depends largely on the circuit they are used in. I am happy with them and recommend them as worthwhile over cheap, new Chinese versions of the EF95 Family of valves (if the seller has any left).
