I've never used a clamping device such as this. previously using several clamping devices and even making specific frames to perform tasks. The 1st thing I will advise is fix to your bench or on a working platform. As the clamping angles are so varied in range of positions it can obviously changing the fulcrum point with weight of object being held or worked/constructed that it is not self weighted to the point you can expect stability. It has been used so far for silver repairs with high temp soldier and held perfect, for precision repairs to circuits(electrical) and currently as the magnification is so good for carving(plaster) figurines in the style of knights and military .

Useful and did a turn. Only bought due to cheapness. You'll need something to clamp down the opposing ends to tighten up. If not done correctly, it doesn't work
