I've used most of the blades on the market and while it's fair to say everyone is different in aggression and sharpness different skin types and razors do well with different blades ect, you can't go wrong with SP green (as they are known in the wet shave community) one of my go too blades supper smooth and less likely to bite a beginner lol , recommended.

I`ve had these from more than one supplier and while I would liked to have given a more positive review I`m afraid I must not. It was a lottery as to whether the next blade out of the pack was sharp or blunt - simple as that. Let me be clear, this is not a failure with Astra alone, I have also had the same issue with Feather blades and others....consistency of sharpness is non existant. It seems like false economy to me and the problem was so noticeable I have reluctantly gone back to using "Mach 3" disposable heads - for the time being at least.

I recently made the switch from cartridges to an old fashioned double edge razor. I’ve realised the importance of finding the right blade. I got 10 Astra blades with my razor but found them to be too sharp. After reading a variety of articles, forums and reviews I decided to try derby blades as they were said to be great for beginners of traditional shaving. I was pleased to find derby as a brand were very cheap, so I bought some. As I used the remainder of the Astra blades I became used to them and started to get clean and smooth shaves. Then I started the Derbys and it was back to square one. At first they were a bit harsh and got cuts and rashes. I also noticed slight inconsistencies between each new blade and a couple were starting to rust when I replaced them. I tried altering my technique and shaved more lightly letting the blade do more of the work. This achieved much better results albeit it is not as close as I’d like and I still have to go over certain parts of my face twice. Ignore recommendations based on your level of experience. I think different blades suit different face shapes and thickness of growth. I think I’ll go back to the sharper blades after I finish these and I’ll try a different brand. Maybe one has to find their perfect blade through trial and error!?Read full review

Item as described and delivered fairly quickly. Have been using these blades for years and are high quality and great value - I get at 3 shaves or more from each blade, depending on stubble. They also don't get clogged with hair, unlike the significantly more expensive multi-bladed options from Gillette, Wilkinson, etc, which trap hair behind the blades and are not easy to clean out.

Cheapest price around, quick delivery, very low cost per blade. I have tried a few blades now and have found these to work best for me. Including Wilkinson Sword, Treet Platinum, Dorco ST 301 and Persona (Tesco) blades. I would say these are similar to both the Wilkinson Sword (forgotten cost) and Tesco (£2 for 10) ones but are so much cheaper. I did just throw the first few away after a single shave as they are so cheap but now kept one to do a few shaves to test, I've had 3 good shaves from one and I can see it doing plenty more.
