A good product for collectors and retro gamers alike. Compared to the Master System II the original design is more angular, and much more slick and well made. The AV out socket (later removed from the Master System II) gives you RGB via an RGB Scart cable (same one as Mega Drive I) This is something that the Master System II does not allow (without modification) since the Master system II only has RF out. Some people may prefer to play Master System games on the Mega Drive using the Power Base Convertor, which are not as common and can be expensive. Since this model is easier to acquire and at a reasonable price, it's the best way to play Master System games. Added to that is the ability to play cartridge games with the Slot provided, and Alex Kid free game (Built into all Master System models) For those who are not collectors and who are not afraid of soldering and modding, they can save a little buying the Master System II, but may regret it in the long run.
