This DVD contains a good copy of the original 1964’s movie. One of the first Sergio Leone's "western spaghetti" films where he began to develop his own cinematographic language (widescreen panoramas vs. close-up shots, real time action, stereotyped characters, sophisticated plot). Leone’s style will improve more and more in his next films “A few dollars more” and “The good, the bad and the ugly” (featuring the same actors) until he finally reaches perfection on the masterpiece “Once upon a time in the west”. Certainly, a top-quality entertainment with good photography, good performances and an engaging history. Served as an appetizer for the other three mentioned above movies.
