I chose this trimmer because the “frequent use” tag suggested that it might be capable of cutting more than one sheet at a time — a limitation of the cheap trimmer I needed to replace. Sadly, I was misled. Despite the trimmer’s quite high price, it does not perform well at even quite undemanding cutting tasks. To make a cut you need to apply firm and even pressure as you slide the cutting unit along the rail. If you don’t press hard enough, the blade does not cut all the way through the paper. Maybe this is obvious, but I am used to using “bypass” trimmers where the cutting wheel always cuts: if you can push it from one end of the rail to the other, the paper you are cutting will always be in two neat pieces. Perhaps I am being unreasonable, but (for example) would you buy a torch/flashlight if the light came on only when you applied firm, uniform and consistent pressure to the switch? Don’t buy one of these unless you must have the accessories for creasing, perforating or feckless-edged cuts.Read full review
