It is straight forward to do. Connect up ignore the reading, it'll say alert, mechanical damage. Run the engine with the unit still attached then take the reading. Mine said empty, zilch (not good) but after a couple of minutes the reading had to changed to low. Then top up a shot at a time. Allow to settle and look if it needs another blast or not. Turn off. Disconnect. Enjoy lovely chilled air (set on recycle unless you plan to cool the world).

I bought the kit for the Missus car and to top up mine as well, the reading on the Missus C3 was just under the red line so I thought I would take a chance even though the instructions said don't, it filled to the green, I tried it but it didn;t get cold so I put the gauge on again and it went to alert. So I left her car and went to my Merc which was getting cool but not very cold put on the gauge and again it went to Alert so that was that, how unlucky can you be.

I work in commercial refrigeration as a quality engineer, although commercial refrigeration has the same components albeit in larger scale the refrigerant spec is different. This kit is worth every penny, I recharged my wifes 2005 Honda Civic and had enough left over to do a friends Peugeot 206cc. Recharging could not be easier, with clear instruction, simply attach to the Low Pressure side and take a reading on the gauge with the engine running. The gauge will tell you if the system needs recharging. I found on the Honda the compressor clutch was not engaging, even by putting an independent live feed to it. I freed it off with a pry bar and got it working. Every part of the system must be working when you recharge. Simply by using a light pull on the trigger the system filled up and started to work. Fill to the car manufacturers specification and your good to go. This is a quality product and worked for me.Read full review

Recently bought a car and the air con was not working so took the chance of buying the refill kit as a cheaper alternative to a Air con service and diagnostic.. Glad to report it successfully fixed the issue, and have extremely frosty nice cold air con The Kit was easy to use and took less than 8 minutes to fill the aircon system. Since my system was completely empty it took the full bottle, It also contains the lubricant and sealer in the formula so saves money having to buy a separate sealer or lubricating oil. Overall very happy with the product would recomend

All very easy to use (even if the charge point on a Mk1 Focus is in an awkward place) and topped up 3 cars with one bottle (one nearly empty, one just about working and one only just needing a bit). It takes a while though and it doesn't seem to want to completely fill, only getting to half way in the green sector (with a lot of shaking and using the engine to warm up the canister). That is enough of course. Also I would rather have a pre-paid return label for the canister, even if I had to pay a little more. It's damned inconvenient to return otherwise. It does make it very obvious that the garages are charging an awful lot for not very much!!
