I bought this recording system from an Akai service engineer a few years ago with the intention of using it within a film company's premises (along with some Avid equipment).
The idea, project and the film company never got off the ground beyond our first film.
The service engineer had pulled this kit as fully working from a failed London recording studio. He said it just needed the heads and all rollers cleaning and the whole thing setting up again. He recommended I didn't even turn it on until it had been serviced. I never got it serviced and true to his advice,
I never turned it on........which is why its sold as Parts or Not Working.
This is old school kit.
Designed to work for a long time. It's rack mountable but the main unit is very heavy. It will take 2 people to load it into a car (without damaging your back)
The cables are untested.
The second meter unit was bought separately in a bid to have one meter unit with the record machine, the other with the programmer. I was going to make a cable splitter but never got around to it.
I will not post. It would be too expensive and would probably damage the thin walls of a delivery van as this is made with proper metal.
These systems are still found in many recording studios all over the world
Well built and heavy
