I needed to extend an existing WiFi network in my aged parents-in-law's house from an existing Apple Airport Router via Ethernet cable. This was a cinch to install, as long as you connect up the LAN & WAN ports correctly, Apple's set-up software does the rest. You have the option of extending an existing network, my choice, or creating a separate network. It is a crying shame that these Apple Routers are no longer made, as they are extremely stable pieces of kit and as long as you connect Apple Router to Apple Router are very easy to install.

Although it is only supports 802.11n wifi network, it is also a full featured printer or NAS server (via the USB port). I am using it actually as a Wifi range extender besides the existing 802.11ac capable Airport Extreme, and it works perfectly. The setup was super easy, and I don't have any issues since then.

These routers are now ‘ancient’ in computer terms but they still ‘cut the mustard’. Easy to set up, easy to wirelessly extend a network, really good range (I can pick up a signal 20m away from the house when I’m in the garden), and handles multiple accounts and users. Great streaming high res music (24/192) to devices around the house. Stylish too. (No horrible aerials sticking out).

A useful and reliable device for extending the network, adding security and guest network. Works well with Sky router.

I have two of these units in my network and achieve over 200 MBPS broadband speed across a wide area of coverage. What's not to like? As part of the bullet-proof AirPort range you can also fully integrate it with like units, earlier generations of Extremes and AirPort Expresses too. I love them and heartily advocate them to anyone who will listen.
