Cela fait longtemps que je voulais passer sur Mac, c'est fait et étant nouveau dans le domaine Mac, j'ai voulu changer de système en quittant Windows, et après le peu d'expérience acquit, je ne suis pas décu... tank you
I have to start by saying I have never used an Apple computer of any sort in all my days,so this was a steep learning curve. That said-it was a fun one. I had no idea what icon did what, where anything was, took several photos by accident of me looking puzzled and generally had a great time making a mess of things,as my know-how gradually gained momentum. Now,a month after gtaking delivery,I have to say-it knocks the socks off the Windows system. This particular machine is 7 years old, running 10.7.5,which is called 'Lion'. There are/have been, several updates on this system, but as Apple tends to just speed things up,rather than discard the whole o/s,I'm perfectly happy with it. I've used a friend's 2015 'pro' version-and it's exactly the same system, with a few tweaks...as opposed to a whole new version. My particular MacBook had a habit of suddenlt revving the fan to really high speeds-I had the hdd cleaned[it was very dusty inside the casing]which cured it. Runs like a dream, now. Cost-£10. Worth every penny. Am I pleased with it? Notarf! I still have my Toshiba with it's W10 o/s-every so often I'll use it just to 'keep my hand in'-but I have to say, despoite the various bleating whinges about Apple not caring about their customers,I have three times asked for advice-and each time, the 'guru' has been brilliant! So,if you're wondering whether an older MacBook is worth the outlay-I can say truthfully that as a dyed-in-the-wool Windows/Linux man,YES,it most certainly is! When you update, you won't have to totally relearn the o/s,nor reset your phone to sync it.Read full review
I love all products Apple and currently own an Intel Imac so the MacBook was like its portable version. Buying secondhand can be fraught with problems but luckily on this occasion a new battery, memory upgrade and a full system reset with software re-install proved a winner. I am very pleased with this notebook although a video out would have been useful to use a regular screen. Inserting my usb apple mouse just worked with no po-up drama to deal with. It connected to my wi-fi and I only needed to enter my password to get it downloading at a recorded 4mbs not bad for wi-fi. Only downside to the MacBook design is the brittle plastic palmrest which breaks off because the lid has two protruding plastic spacing pieces which when you close the lid rest on the edges snapping off the plastic leaving your lovely Mac a bit shabby. Rubber inserts would have eliminated this design flaw. However this aside I would wholly recommend buying a second hand Mac for the same money as a new Windows Atom notebook anyday.Read full review
very impressed. bought this laptop to try out apple MacBooks compared to windows. amazed at how a 2007 model macbook is faster and more reliable than a brand new HP 2011 notebook. the 2GB max RAM seems some how faster than the 4GB in the HP windows laptop. i upgraded to OS X tiger, which runs great on this. get anywhere between 3 and 5 hours battery life depending on what you are doing.
