This is my second Arctic fan, the first an 80mm to replace a dead gpu fan. This one was also bought for a specific reason, to cool a noisy power supply. I have just put together a mini online ITX pc using a Sharkoon Mini ITX case and a MicroATX motherboard, tight fit but it all goes in with minimum modification. The problem was the power supply, a Silverstone sfx 450w which sounded like a jet engine, on all the time and way too noisy. I needed a larger fan to replace the 80mm already there, and one that could be controlled. As the mobo only has two fan controllers, both in use for cpu and general case fan, I needed a different solution. The Arctic F12 TC was it, a temp controlled fan which only came on when it was needed ie during gaming, no jet engine sound effects while reading emails. The F12 is a 3 pin 120mm fan with a temp probe. It switches on at 30 degrees C and the speed, if you have a spare fan controller, can be adjusted in bios or software. In my case it would just run at full speed as it is connected directly to a molex. However, I have powered it with 7 volts rather than 12 so full speed is 850rpm*. It is as good as silent at that speed. Not that it would be a problem, at full speed on 12 volts it is pretty quiet, and is completely drowned out by the game. At around half the price of the top brand it is easily as good, quiet and with no discernible vibration. The only drawback, and purely my preference, is the colour. Not a great fan of white, prefer balck, but I suppose it is still better than the poo coloured fans I have elsewhere in this and other PCs. On any non windowed PC I will default to using an Arctic fan in future, on a case with 3 fans that saved between £15 and £30 over those top brand names. This fan, and the other one, were bought by me from a reseller, no connection to Arctic. *Temporarily connected it to one of the fan controllers and adjusted speed with Argus Monitor to see how well it worked. I found these fans a bit of a gimmick. Although they are silent, they spin at a very slow speed even at high cabinet temperatures. I literally had to light a cigarette lighter to the sensor to get full fan speed. Don't even bother for this fan...

This is a great fan, It's easy to install into your Tower computer, and it's nice and quite. It has a handy temperature sensor cable to Monitor the temperature of the Insides, and when it's warm the fan spins faster to cool it down, and it work great. On my system it holds the Temperature around 30 / 31 c and the fan does it's Job. I do Recommend this fan for everyone.

It's a large sturdy fan. I went for the 12cms version for a better cooling solution. It can handle all temps on your motherboard including extreme overclocking, if your into that sort of thing. Overall a great buy and highly reccommended.

This replaces a much smaller fan and seems to run mostly around 500rpm. The temperature sensor is a good feature but haven't noticed the fan not running at all or at a higher speed. It is very quiet. This has been added in combination with an arctic cooler processor rig and in combination normal temperatures have been reduced from 69°C to 29C. I can definately recommend this fan
