This was one of the first Gundams I bought, in a lot with a few other 1/144 scale mechs. Wanted to see what all the hubbub is about, and I'm happy to say these are fun to build. With these Gundam kits, basically the toy factory uses mold injection to create the "parts trees", which is a big "sheet" of parts still attached to the sprues. There are different types of plastic in there (they're labeled), like polystyrene, polycarbonate, rubbery material for joints, etc., so you can pick what type of paint is best (enamel, acrylic, etc.) Parts are molded in their proper colors, but it's up to you to snip, refine and paint everything however you want. This Graze model in particular looks great even without any paint, but you can paint it pink and it'll still look good with those high heel shoes it has lol. It has a generic utilitarian design, like maybe it's mass produced by the military, but it looks cool. Mainly you'll be cobbling together the dark grey frame (like a skeleton) then attaching lots of fiddly army green bits to it, like little thrusters that can actually pivot around. Nothing has to be glued, parts fit snugly, and if you leave them unglued you can even disassemble the whole thing for some interesting "repairs" displays. Lots of great detail, all parts are precision made so there's very little modding you have to do to get parts to plug into each other properly. Mostly you'll be using a nail file to remove the burrs created when you snip the parts off the trees. The only thing I don't like about these Gundams is the hands. They're hard plastic so it can be hard for them to hold weapons securely. I'd rather they be made of the same rubbery material as the joints, but I guess then there may be issues with paint not sticking to them. Also, these can be fragile sometimes, but "fiddly" is more accurate. Parts may pop off from time to time just from handling a Gundam, it depends on the particular model. Anyway, this is a good looking super poseable 5 inch-ish model, great for jumping into the Gundam hobby. And best of all, they're only like 10 bucks! You can't even buy a GI Joe for that much anymore, but these smaller Gundams are forever on sale, just keep your eyes open.Read full review
