For a colour laser printer, the price is amazing. These were once only found in higher price brackets, meaning you had to choose between buying an ink jet (where the ink would dry up) or spending lots of money. The toner lasts for ages, and even when it does run out, Brother toner always comes in far cheaper than toner from other manufacturers - not that you'll notice the difference on day to day printing when compared against more expensive premium brands. I'd intended this to be connected up in a utility room, well away from any computer, and connected up only by an RJ-45 patch cable. Sadly this isn't an option with this printer, so it has to be set up next to my main computer (where space is already at a premium), as it's the only way I can connect the printer's USB lead. Wireless is included if you want to print directly from your phone, but for anyone running a more professional set up, this isn't really usable. The printer seems to expect you to connect to its own hotspot, rather than it joining your existing network. This would make wireless printing from a desktop computer more cumbersome as you'd have to leave your normal network temporarily in order to print. Not an issue for me, my computers are filly wired throughout, but for other people, this could be a minor challenge. For its price point though, it's a very solid printer.Read full review
