Restoring an old jag, needed something to clean suspension parts. Really impressed by this bit of kit. Easy to set up. Came with everything I needed. Only had to order some blast media. (Glass beads) For the price, I can’t fault it. I think I would also replace the feed pipe as it slightly too short.

Seller states that this is the new model, however it is not. The new model has LED lighting, this comes with a florescent that failed after 2 uses of the cabinet. Do not expect to use this as it comes. Within about 2-3 minutes it clouds up to the point that you can't even see what you are working on. You need to rig up a vacuum system to vent the cabinet properly. I found one on Youtube that seems easy to build for a few £ Will be building that over the next few days. Now I just need to sort out the lighting as what is supplied was totally inadequate, even when it worked.

I have been using this unit with two different grades of glass media ( med / fine crushed glass and fine glass beads). It is very good out of the box but to get the best out of it you need to remove the side mounted filer and attach a workshop vac and some form of dust collector either home made see you tube or one of the many cyclone devices advertised here and on amazon.. Once this is done you can see what your doing which makes each job much easier. Using the two types of media in turn my Aluminium bits came up bright and shiny, just like new. Using the med cut glass a dull finish is achieved on most materials which makes an ideal key for primer and paint. I am using a 3hp 12CFM compressor with a 50ltr tank which runs most of the time even if I restrict the pressure to 80psi. It’s import to use a regulator with a water trap to keep you media dry. The unit is built down to a price but is more than good enough for diy use. The pick up pipe is a bit short but I suspect it could become a restrictor if too long a hose is used. The next cheapest option is over £40 more so at £72 this is excellent value for money.Read full review

As previously mentioned, the syphon pickup tube is a little short and this hampers you manoeuvring the blast gun into the best position. It could do with being about 6-8” longer. Also the syphon pickup in the blast media sump is unvented, so you can have some starving and surging of blast media. I’ve correctly this with the addition of a rigid vent tube. The lighting is adequate but, again can be easily upgraded by the addition of cheap bulb holders. Visibility can be challenging during blasting, so these lighting mods along with the addition of a vacuum cleaner attached to the dedicated outlet is a must. This is the same with all blast cabinets. I’ve since mounted mine on a trolley with castors, so that you can blast at a comfortable working height and move it around easily. For the money, this is an excellent first cabinet. I’ve learnt quite a bit on the way and the mods I’ve carried out have been simple and relatively cheap. I’ve seen reviews on much more expensive cabinets highlighting the same issues, so, all in all, I’m very pleased with it. If these mods came as standard and for, say £10-15 more, it would get an excellent five star rating.Read full review

A friend recommended this item as I am rebuilding a car from 1935, where EVERYTHING is rusty. The sandblaster cabinet is good value for money and should last a long time with care. I built a metal stand for it with a shelf beneath to hold an old drum type vacuum cleaner for dust extraction. Simple to assemble with just about everything in the box. You will need an adapter to connect it to your airline and some grit.
