I'm always a bit sceptical about Ultrasonic devices, as I've seen many claims for devices to repel mosquitos only to discover that the mosquitos simply laugh. The Ultrasonic and Audible Bark Stopper does, however, actually work! I am looking after five young dogs together with some older ones. The young dogs can often become excited and descend into an uncontrollable frenzy of barking. This can be caused by anything from a cat roaming nearby, a sudden loud noise or a strange dog on the other side of the fence. Enter the Bark Stopper - a quick burst and calm... Also useful whilst out walking to deal with unexpected encounters with other dogs or hapless passers-by. As for the Audible Bark Stopper, I have yet to find a use. The only observations are that the device is physically quite large and the wrist strap does not easily accommodate large hands.Read full review

Our 2 year old Shih Poo was driving us mad with his barking at people and other dogs passing our house. We decided to try an ultrasonic device. We ordered this one and were impressed with the quality and ease of use but unfortunately he got used to it within just a couple of days! Although I wouldn't recommend this type of product it may be more effective with other breeds of dog and is inexpensive enough to try.

Bought this device to control our small dog after moving house. No effect whatsoever with the inaudible button and only the slightest notice given to the audible. Have tried it on many days and always the same result, just keeps on barking! To add to insult no batteries are supplied so had to drive into the town to buy a pack, more cost! Basically a pure waste of money, avoid in my opinion.

Barkstop does not seem to work on my neighbours dog. i bought this device hopeing that it would stop him for his continuous yapping but to no avail. Either it does not work or the dog just totally ignores it. I would not recommend this to anyone as a failsafe device . Maybe her dog is deaf but I do not think so. It doesn't even seem to work on the audible sound either the dog just ignores it and keeps on barking. I cannot take anything away from the quality of the device it is small lightweight and very easy to use.

I've only just got my Barkstop and, so far, have used it 4 times in silent mode pointing at a neighbours yapper 4 houses away. The said small dog is often put outside and barks continually, I mean continually, until he is allowed back in. Whilst out, he also takes advantage of yapping at anything that makes a noise. A passing person or car etc. On each occasion I point the device in the direction of the neighbours property and press the Ultrasonic button for a couple of seconds. The first time I did this the dog stopped immediately and, because it was out of my line of sight, I presumed the neighbour had coincidently let the dog back into the house. However, I've used the device on four separate occasions now and the mutt stops barking each time and doesn't resume until the next time he comes out. Amazing! Give it a go. I'm sure that the dog also feels better.Read full review
