Fairly difficult to dismantle existing Sat Nav but there are videos showing how to do this on You-tube. You definitely require the supplied toolkit. The old battery needed to be pried from the Sat Nav base as it was stuck down with double sided tape. The battery is fitted with an adequate length cable for easy assembly. Take care to correctly orientate the connector to the Sat Nav connection socket.

A nice selection of tools but you only need the yellow screwdriver to remove two screws and the plastic tool to prise open the case (watch the video on Youtube - I mean it, watch the video). Nice to have some spare hobby screwdrivers. After about 15 minutes (being careful opening the difficult to remove case) I had the new battery in and reused the (very sticky) doubleside sticky tape from the old battery to secure it in place.

Bought from this company because they supply the tools necessary to open the Garmin. Watch a Utube video first so you know exactly where to apply leverage. Two small plugs need removing and replacing but it is easy provided you take your time. The battery and connector are an exact fit and they arrived soon after order placed. Recommended.

Good delivery Tools adequate to enable the case to be opened without any damage (not robust enough for long term use) Battery had same stated capacity and physical size Note: The battery did not have enough charge to boot up the device, but once charged it seems OK ( I normally never use for more than about 30 mins on battery during planning whilst in the house, so have not tested how long it now lasts) It would be worth making sure you have some double sided tape to hand as there is a good chance the existing will be ruined when you remove the old battery. ( I had some - so was no issue for me)

Having paid for lifetime supply of map updates I didn't want that to equate to "a battery's lifetime" and the agreement is limited to the specific sat-nav. This did the trick. I suspect deliberately a bit fiddly to open the sat-nav to get at the battery but job done and back in action. :)
