I did a lot of shopping around online before purchasing, comparing the noise levels and extraction rates and ended up going for a more expensive option from a "premium" manufacturer due to being available to collect in store locally. It was promptly returned as the extraction rate was pathetic, probably due to manipulated advertising figures. This extractor is not exactly quiet, especially on full power but as far as extractors go I would say it is not too noisy at all and the power is definitely enough. It was also very easy to install.

I bought this model as a one-for-one replacement for a Baumatic fan which was used daily for over a decade until it expired. The extractor comes with fixing instructions, screws etc. It is reasonably lightweight and all the stainless parts are covered with a scratch resistant film. The extractor motor is plastic. The mains leads are taken out above the hood. Connection is to an isolated switch as recommended by the manufacturers after the unit is physically installed. There is no mounting template, it is up to the installer to measure the unit and make the appropriate holes in the wall. Be prepared for some cursing at this stage as the positioning holes are high up the unit. The screws need to be tightened up, which is where the cursing is applicable. I cheated and put some silicone behind the unit before tightening up the screws to stop any sagging. The chimney is a two piece sliding affair that is either decorative or covers the flue. If your chimney is shorter than the supplied unit then it is possible to cut it down as there is a recessed groove in top of the hood which will cover up any ragged edges. The energy efficiency can be improved by substituting small edison light bulbs for the 15watt filament bulbs provided. Once installed it was quiet and efficient - we have an outside flue. In summary, it is possible to install this in a few hours as long as everything is prepared and understood but it is not an easy installation.Read full review

I bought the kitchen hood to replace one that had broken. The new hood was delivered on the 9th june. It was installed on the 10th june, we were very impressed by its appearace and operation. Sunday 11th june it stopped working halfway through cooking a meal. The light still worked but the fan didnt. On Monday 12th june I phoned the supplier, they told me to contact the Manufacturer, I did this the same day. They said they would send a engineer out on the 15th June. After waiting in all day the Engineer failed to arrive. I had to go away for a few days so was unable to contact the manufactures untill 27th june. They couldnt understand why their didnt arrive on the 15th, but would arrange another for the 5th july, The Engineer did arrive, he took a look at the Extractor hood and said he had to order some spare parts, they should take about 3 days to arrive, Today is the 10th July, I am still waiting.Read full review
It looks large and obtrusive It was reasonably easy to fit, certainly a "one man job". It works well, but is quite noisy, it is well made and does the job it was purchased for
the cooker hood is good value at the price paid, the style fits in well with my kitchen, just one minor complaint,it doesnt work, have been waiting for some weeks for engineer to call and replace on/off switch.date promised 16th december
