What a great album. I remember having this on vinyl back in the 80's and suddenly had the urge to get it again. It's still as fresh as it was then. Billy Joel uses this album to recreate the sounds of his youth and obvious tones such as the Four Seasons come shining through. "Uptown Girl" is probably the anthem of the album. On the final track, Keeping the Faith, we hear Billy explaining the music of the album and tell us that he is "keeping the faith". Brilliant. Why can't we get new music like this?
A great great album from Billy Joel the best tracks are AN INNOCENT MAN and THE LONGEST DAY not forgetting the alltime favourite Uptown Girl all these tracks said volumes to me perhaps the best album Billy has ever made.
This is one of those rare albums where every single track is top drawer. Joel at his very best. The songs are varied and all the arrangements are of the highest quality. A highly recommended album - even if you're not a Joel fan.
