I realised that all I needed on a phone was a) good call reception, b) good text messaging c) basic web access, and d) a proper keyboard. Having got sick and tired of Android constantly slowing slowing down and taking forever to do anything, I decided to take a risk and switch to one of the newer BB10 based Blackberrys. This phone suits me well. It can connect to ALL types of email systems (including gMail, and ActiveSync direct to MS Exchange). It supports most of the messaging apps. It's also fast, the battery lasts for several days on moderate use and the hard keyboard is so much better to type on than a touchscreen one. The camera is good enough for daily snaps, with a default square framing which is great for social media. It also can run 90% of standard Android apps, as well as 1000s of apps in the Blackberry store, and the Amazon store. One downside is that Facebook no longer support it - so you can't get the latest Facebook client, nor can you install a native Messenger app (there's a paid-for 3rd party one on the Blackberry store though). Blackberrys get a bad rap these days, but if your needs are modest, they do the job fine, and are very cheap now to pick up.Read full review
