Having watched several YouTube videos on how to replace the main suspension arm bush on a BMW Mini (I am not a trained mechanic, but have always maintained my own cars - the car would have to be on axle stands as I don't have a vehicle lift) I started the job with some trepidation. Local garage would not quote for this job ('£48 per hours and for as long as it takes') so I bought this item and it worked perfectly! Comes with no instructions/paperwork but have a look on YouTube and it's fairly obvious (although the replacing of the bush required an extra nut in order to assemble the pieces). I did spray all suspension parts liberally with WD40 prior to starting. I thoroughly recommend this item - the hardest part of the job was getting the suspension arm back into the fitted bush (but this item has nothing to do with that part of the job. Hint - use washing up liquid, g-clamps and mole grips).Read full review

After reading the horror stories about cutting bush housings out with saws, thought I'd invest in the correct tool to do the job properly and quickly....using it the first time i heard clunks as i tightened...thinking this was the housing being pressed out as intended and expected, i carried on...only to find after the 4th clunk, the end plate had stripped all of it's threads and was now useless. Not sure whether a higher priced item would mean better quality....but ended up cutting the housing with a hacksaw after all and bashing the crap out of it to get it out. The tool was useable for pressing the new bush in so not completely useless.

Item works. It's a bit lightweight and easy to break if you don't watch out. Mine bent on the first try. Company was really good and dispatched replacement parts no quibble.

Used exactly as intended, it only managed to move the bush in the control arm about 1cm before the thread stripped and it was junk. It probably didn't help that the bush had been there for 11 years, but even so... Complete waste of time and money. I'll have to resort to cutting and drilling to get the bushes out now.
