I was looking for an tablet but didn't want Apple nor Android device so i thought there ain't none for me until I came across HP touchpad and WebOs. It stands out quite well compared to it's competitors. Software might need some tuning in some things but butting that aside it performs extreamly well. haven't yet face a situation where i felt like lacking power. Dual core and 1Gb RAM makes surfing pleasant you can even leave youtube video running on the back and yet keep several programs and heavy web pages open at the same time. About the cons.. Video galley app could support more video codecs, sicne you are forced to download some 3rd party app to play video from your pad. Also i would like to have native filesystem browser by default to be able to do custom task in filesystem. Also i would like to see more apps in general. Altought, it handels wery well of the normal email,web,music,pics... For the price absolutety recommended!Read full review
got it for about 150 pounds good value for money but has some issues like limited apps for WEB OS and also if you run android on it it affects the battery life. The biggest problem is when the battery runs out completely and you plug it into the charger it doesn't charge for quite a while and keeps saying plug into the original charger, other than that the features are great, the screen is good and audio is outstanding. Does you'r daily operations like emails surfing etc. just fine. If you'r looking for something at a lower price then go for it otherwise there are much better options for tablets out there
Well built and good spec. Let down by HP no longer supporting the operating system. Limited apps available compared to IPad and Android. However if you just want to surf the net and use email including the ability to read Office and PDA files this is perfect. Web os is a great operating system. It's slick, glitch free and multi tasks unlike ios and Android. Runs Flash unlike iOS and has a good screen. Fast processor. Runs Iplayer including live tv perfectly. Plays videos and music. Does all I want to do.
I bought it for my wife as a Xmas present, she loves it but then we found out that there are lots of programmes are not working like Skype, MSN, Yahoo Messenger, etc. and we couldn't find them in the HP apps. So if you want to use it for video calling this HP TouchPad is useless, I don't know why it has a webcam! On the other hand it's very handy and fast to surf online and watch youtube, facebook, even lovefilm movies. But you cant's replace it with a laptop unlike the Ipad2 but it's also less than half the price compared with the Ipad2 and double the memory (32GB HP TouchPad is less than £200) While Ipad2 (16 GB is for more than £400). Still good value for money and the wife still happy :)
A great piece of kit really, especially for the price. I know it doesnt have all the apps that the ipad offers, but it also doesnt cost anywhere near the price of an ipad. For browsing the web and reading books and playing games it is just fine. Does run a little slow sometimes, but there are lots of ways to speed it up. And now with developers making lots of changes to the OS, a little research online will make the touchpad much more usable. All in all a great toy which I am very pleased with... only let down is the lack of apps.
