I originally bought this printer to support my tutoring business. I needed to print double sided, fast and in volume. It hasn't let me down - so far. I have since gone on to use it for printing photos on A3 canvas paper. If you put the setting to "other photo paper" and "best" - you really see the quality this thing is capable of. A tip to all those photographers who aren't experts in colour: I found printing from Adobe Illustrator works best. Shoot to Adobe RGB raw, import into photoshop, "let illustrator handle colours" and change colour profile to "Adobe RGB 1998". This gives the best screen to print reproduction. For a dated technology, the manual to the printer spends most of its time talking about the fax functionality. I haven't used it to fax - at all. So I can't comment on that. The printer jams every now and then. This has only happened on A4 - but I found a promising solution, make sure the pages in the tray have very little space between them and the front of the tray. This way the rollers do pick up the page more successfully. The document feeder at the back is a bit crap - but you'll only need it for the thickest card. I have printed to 220g/sqm from the tray before - and it worked fine. When I have printed from the document feeder before - the pages tend to be wonky and more prone to ink splatter - so I wouldn't recommend it unless you absolutely have to use it (rarely - if ever). The scanner is absolutely fab. I used it to preserve all of my nan's photos - and it grabbed every little bit of detail going at a mere fraction of the quality of scan it is capable of (600dpi). It is also fast and big - great for scanning many many photos etc. All in all the Brother MFC-J6510DW is a fantastic printer, just avoid its ugly side whenever you can. I have used it to print enormous amount of materials for my students, and it has held up fine. I am even considering selling some of the artwork I have printed with it - it is that good.Read full review
This is a great A3 printer/scanner/copier/fax machine. I use it not only for my daily use, I also use it for my crafting needs as well. The winning factor for me was the true A3 size scanner, most A3 all in one machine's only have the A4 scanner capability. The price was also a major factor in my choice. A terrific all round machine
My old all-in-one was a bit limited and I need to replace it with something better - I wanted a printer that could print at A3 size (double-side printing on A3 was a nice bonus) and needed to retain scanning ability. Looked at a few that could print at A3 but this one shone out as also being able to SCAN at A3. I was sold! Delivery was very prompt and I found consumables quite cheap too. So far nothing but praise for the machine it does what it says on the tin.
Fantastic machine will do everything I want and more simple to install and use.. Would highly recommend to anyone . A large machine but there aren't many that will print A3 and scan in one machine. So to find a machine that not only prints in A3 but will also scan up size A3 is fantastic.
Very good and easy to use
