The problem with releasing the soundtrack of any film that isn't a musical, is the shortage of material available to fill up a whole CD without repetition of the same tunes. This CD is no exception. There is one song and three other tunes that basically comprise the whole of the CD. What's more they aren't laid out in the same sequence in which they appear in the film. The opening instrumental I can't place without looking at the film again, but this is followed by the pretty haunting piece which in the film lays behind the trip down to Bolivia, which you may remember is depicted by a series of sepia images of the trio, as well as underneath the closing titles. In all this crops up three times in different Bacharact arrangements. Next up in the a capella scat type tune which in the film shows the trio embarking on the series of Bolivian bank raids. The best known tune is of course "Raindrops keep falling on my head" which comes in three forms. The released single version, the version taken from the film that includes the sequence where Newman and Ross are confronted by the bull and then an instrumental version. If you're looking to listen to the whole CD as an album the repetition may annoy but the music evokes such good memories of what is a wonderful film, you can't help but feel both happy and sad as you listen along.Read full review
