This unit doesn't make any sense. It requires a "Male to Female" cable to install but every computer I've ever seen comes with a "Male to Male" monitor cable so you will have to buy a new VGA cable. Also, one of the VGA connectors is set up backwards with receiver nuts on a male connector instead of screws which prevents a Female connector to be inserted. You have tear off the nuts on the new cable for it to work (you can see the weird connector in the stock picture. The male side should always have the screws, not nuts). Once that was accomplished, the unit barely made a difference in the signal through my 75' VGA cable anyway. Not worth messing with...

works fine. Odd thing though, in order to keep it in line with normal cable set up, the connectors for signals IN and OUT are are backwards? Had to use male/male and female/female adaptors?
