What a brilliant little thing this is! OK, not the fastest thing in the world.... but the 1541 drive wasn't. It's just nics to have everything in ons place, on one card so that you can load anything on a whim. The little wait makes you choose wisely and makes upu appreciate what you're loading. If the speed bugs you: get a fast load cart. It looks really cute as well.

Nice product but the Autoswap.lst file and SWAP button I could Never get it to work. It's a bit of a Struggle. Had to resort to buying Retro Innovations UIEC/SD no issues with their swap button and lets one transfer format back to Floppy copy.

I've been looking at these for a while and decided to take the plunge. My C64 is quite spoiled already with a 1541 disk drive and tape drive, but wanted to make sure that all my games can be access quickly from one place. I love the real experience of loading from disk or tape. But sometimes you just want a quick game. The SD2IEC offers this and more. I can transfer my disk games to D64 images and also can make a compliation disk of my tape games and then transfer them to D64 as well. I can now also download the new games that are being made as digital downloads and load them in to my trusty BreadBin. I think the next thing (maybe for a stocking fillter from my wife) will be the Fastload Cart they do. I had some fun trying to work out the disk swapping but once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature, now I can load up milti disk games with out all the hassle of swapping the disk over in my 1541 drive. One last thing I must say is the cases are excellent quality and look the business, kind of wished I had gone for the Limited Edition now, but maybe I will one day treat my VIC20 to the Ltd Edition. Thanks to The Future Was 8Bit my C64 is now totally pampered and I can load games so conveniently and can transfer all my original and older disks over to an SD card.Read full review

Now I can have literally thousands of programs on a tiny chip, instead of lugging around a gym bag full of diskettes. This thing works great. Some slight modifications were needed for it to work with a C128D. First, I had to lengthen the power wire that plugs into the game port. It is in a different location on the C128D compared to a regular C128 or C64. Secondly, I had to grind off the 'ears' on the plug that goes into the game port, because it would hit the metal case and prevent it from engaging the circuit board. Other than those two easy modifications, it works like a champ. I have JiffyDos and it seems to work fine with it. What a great little product. I highly recommend getting one.
