Great value for item garden item. Like everyone always used small hand sieve. Not anymore, so much easier with this rotary sieve. Strong construction requiring minimal putting together. Just make sure nuts and washers are on outside to prevent snagging with rotary arm, which luckily I did. Sieves well, but like other sieves only tolerates wet soil, but did manage to sieve about 4 wheelbarrows of soil in damp conditions, just had to use a bit of muscle. Only other point is if you turn handle in wrong direction the handle top knob has the tendency to unwind and come loose. Overall I rate it quite highly.

Excellent piece of kit, got though mountains of stuff, You have to assemble it, but it's easy to do I had to file out the centre hole where the spindle locates because the sieve mesh went over it You have to crank it anti-clockwise or the handle knob unscrews Wear gloves if your hands are soft, or you may get a blister on your palm Robust construction

its light enough to move about and pick up, i put it into a wheel barrow for hight at work, when using it save time and effort (compared to the hand type) hose it off when finished, i used for my garden vegetable patches at the end of season to clear any roots left over ready for next season. good bit of kit.

We have a large flower bed which is riddled with couch grass and mare's tail. The only solution was to sieve every cubic metre of the soil in it to get rid of every last inch of it. Initially we tried a few hand sieves measuring about 12 inches diameter. We quickly realised that we would never finish the job at the rate of progress we were making. so my wife googled 'ROTARY SIEVE' and thank goodness the Clarke rotary sieve came up. At £54.00 it seemed fair value. but we were desperate for a low cost solution. When it arrived, it was very quick to assemble and immediately put to use. It measures about 18 inches in dia with high sides so could be loaded with a good amount of soil. It has 4 legs which allow the sieve to stand about 12 inches off the ground for the sieved soil to drop down into. It is good for sieving into a builde'rs wheelbarrow It transformed the job from thankless, endless work to the hope that the job would get done. Productivity in terms of sieving quantity trippled i.e. 3 times more soil could be sieved than with the hand sieves. It needs lots of energy to turn the handle so a strong, fit person at hand for the churning would be useful and it is quite heavy for tipping out the spoil every few minutes. A team of two works well. It has already sieved at least 4 or 5 tons of soil and still has plenty of life in it so the build quality is good. For that bigger garden sieving job (not big volume commercial) I strongly recommend this product.Read full review
