I love my new CTC printer. I think it's a great value. My only issues were that it doesn't come quite as pictured. When I opened my box I wondered what two vaguely triangular pieces were. It turns out that they were part of the filament roll holders. My printer only came with one roll holder, (creel). I also noticed that there were no filament feed tubes to route the filament from the rear holders to the extruder mechanism. One other minor issue was that the spool of black PLA they included with the printer was broken, one flange of the spool had a chunk broken off. This really didn't bother me because I knew it could be easily repaired with my medium density cyanakrylic adhesive, and it was. I wrote the sellor about the missing creel and the lack of feeder tubes. I received a prompt reply in broken english that stated the feeder tubes were not included because they jammed the feed too easily. They sent me an .stl model of the creel for me to print one myself, and it printed flawlessly the first time. I did learn from their omission. I've since printed the feed tube holders off of thingiverse, and purchased white ptfe tubes off Ebay for a very low price, but have yet to install the feedtube and siee it my machine will jam. I'm trying to master ABS right now, and there is a bit of a learning curve, but I'm confident this printer will work wonderfully when I get the ABS sticking issues solved for myself. A wonderful thing about this printer is it's simple contruction, and easy upgradability. I'm confident I can fix whatever may go wrong. I've purchased and made rough cuts for acrylic windows. I'm going to add LED liighting on the inside. It's a fun hobby, and an inventive mind can make wonderful prototypes with it. A friend of mine saw my printer and had to have a 3D printer for himself. He bought a Ultibot, for $2500 bucks, it only has one extruder and I don't think it's as versatile as my 400 to 500 buck CTC Makerbot Clone. Get one.. (Be advised. there is a learning curve to all FF 3D printing. The modeling software will probably be more difficult for you than actually using and maintaining your printer)Read full review

I bought this "assembled" printer expecting to just need adjustment due to shipping, and to plug the last few bits together. Well, it was assembled, but most of the screws were loose, and a couple had lost their nuts. I ended up having to take the bottom panel off so I could tighten some of them. The instructions that were emailed when I asked are for a largely similar printer, with kind-of the same accessories, etc... I haven't been able to actually print with it yet, as the dual extruder heads are badly mis-aligned, and I haven't figure out how to align them, nor have I found instructions on HOW to align them. (Well, I've found instructions, but all of them involve adjusting a nut that this assembly doesn't have.) It doesn't help at all that the instructions you can get are all in Jinglish, so you have to try and figure out what they are trying to say.Read full review

I've had this printer for about a week now and I have a few complaints as well as a few praises. First of all, it was packaged very nicely, although during shipping many screws came loose and some fell out. The limit switch in the rear also came unbolted and was not easy to mount. Also, the home position limit switch needed adjusted. When the printing head tried to go home and would not hit the switch it would make a horrible vibrating noise until it hit the switch. Once I got everything tightened up and adjusted I ran into a problem trying to load my filament. I took the printing assembly apart on the right side to find that there was old test filament preventing the new filament from feeding properly. Once again, after everything was clean and adjusted I was able to make my first test print, which turned out great. It was the cube test print. Up until today I've had no issues with the printer, until my prints started to not stick. I checked to see if the print bed was level, and during the leveling process I noticed both print heads weren't leveling evenly with the bed. So I took a straight edge to it and it seems the bed is warped. This will be an issue until i can either get a replacement or find an upgrade (which i was planning on doing anyway). All things considered, and from the reviews I read before I purchased this printer, I got exactly what I expected, which was a few headaches before I could print. I was happy with the quality of the prints I was able to do, and with the noise level of the machine. This printer is very quiet. I will continue my review once I put several hundred hours on the machine.Read full review

Just what it is, a cheap 3D printer. There is so much missing that you have to buy extra just to get it up "almost" standards of a quality printer. Also, the print quality is really not that good. There is no way, even though others have said they were able, to upgrade the firmware. I have not been able to upgrade the firmware and as a result, prints do not come out very well. IMHO, not worth the money. Best to spend the extra and get the real one, not the knock off one. Sorry, just my opinion.

It took a little tinkering (especially if you are new to 3D printing like i was) but now that i have it a bit figured out the printer just hums along on it's own through long or repetitive prints. Snug all the screws and bolts and nuts as soon as you take it out of the box, level the bed and start printing... (You don't need the filament guide tubes)
