brilliant, easy to set up and use. any one could take great photos with this camara. all the functions are easy to use but read the book first.
Canon EOS 300D is perfect when it comes to image quality, however, it is very slow and antique when compared to recent amateur DSLRs. If you are not in a hurry when you are photographing, this camera may be perfect for you. I found its size much better compared to newer EOS 3-digit series, it is larger and more comfortable for bigger hands. PROs: - Perfect image quality (shares sensor with EOS 10D) - Small manageable file sizes - 6MP - Very reliable - Perfectly sized for people with large hands - Viewfinder is pretty good compared to other newer compact DSLRs - 18-55mm EF-S lens is great value for money - 75-300mm EF lens is great value for money CONs: - Painfully slow to start (3 seconds!) - Painfully slow to buffer RAW - Mirror mechanism has a design fault and fails after time (beware ebay buyers) - 18-55mm EF-S MK-I is worse than MK-II Hope this helps! BHello eBay. Already had EOS 300D Digital Camera with EF-S 18-55mm Lens, but was impressed with photographic press's appraisal of this model. It handles like a dream, with all functions being easy to understand. Also, I have other Canon EF lenses which I had bought for use with my Canon EOS 30, so had already got a system with which I was familiar, and which is compatible. I did not purchase an EF 75-300mm lens for use with the EOS 300D as I have a Canon EF 75-300mm with Image Stabiliser, which is among the Canon lenses which I had purchased for use with my EOS 30. My main photographic interest is Stock Car/Banger racing, and find that a Tamron 28-300mm lens coupled with my EOS 300D body satisfies most of my current needs quite adequately. Best regards, Joseph Spence
This camera ais just the right size to handle and not too small. It is also not too heavy due to its moulded polymer design. As it has only 6.3mp and yet a large sensor this makes it excellent for use in low light. Images have good contrast straight from the camera without teaking in photoshop. I have had a number of canon digital slrs (300d, 350d & 40d) bit this is my favourite.
Right from opening the box the camera felt like quality. On first inspection the camera is ideal for new people wishing to attempt taking high quality pictures. The camera has 10MP which is plenty but can be changed to 3/6/9MP if desired. The camera has features such a 'live view' which enable the user to use the camera like a regular camera. The camera has many settings from Auto, Macro, Sport (check the cannon website for full features list) which come in handy especially as you never know when you might get a photo opportunity. The camera is also very light which helps when taking photos with out a tripod. Overall I find this camera Excellent and well worth the money.
