Having grown up with Canon's in the family the 600d was my first step into the SLR market and all I can say is that I have been satisfied from day 1. We wanted a camera that not only took high resolution pictures but also recorded in HD as we have just had our first child who we wanted to record and photograph from the beginning. The features are second to none and I especially like the ease of creating your own manual settings for creative shooting. When it comes to my business I needed a camera that takes high resolution close up's and even with the std 18-55mm lens you can get away with quite alot. Overall a really great camera which I can't recommend enough.
An excellent beginners Digital SLR. The ideal starting point really if you want a Full HD video camera. Most people can't make their mind up between this and the 60D. Simple really... The 60D is better built and adds that all important dial on it to control aperture but the 600D is lighter and smaller and probably ideal for her rather than him. I use it with a grip on the bottom. Dont waste your money on Canon's own grip, just get anyone from eBay, I've never seen a bad grip! The advantage in some situations that the 60D has is it is lighter than the 60D. And finally for all those that are wondering if the T3i (American version) is any different... No it's not apart from you just need to change menu setting from NTSC to PAL... thats the lot!
Small and light weight, easy to carry and use. Well exposed and sharp photos every time.

Bought this camera for use in nighttime wide angle astro-photography. Found it a great buy for three reasons 1) 18 megapixels give fantastic sharpness to star like objects. 2) The live view with x5 and x10 mag. enables sharp manual focus of stars. 3) The foldout adjustable image display screen is a great help when working with stars directly overhead - prevents neck strain. I found this camera a light year ahead of my old 350D for quality and ease of use in astronomy.
Excellent camera so easy to use.great clear images one of the best
