The Canon FTb is an old camera, but it's still a very reliable Japanese Camera with a lovely lens and smooth shutter operation. A good one that was not over used and stored properly can be a great bargain to be had on ebay. It's not as easy to use as the modern day 35mm SLR, because it has a built-in light meter that will make you think when composing a shot, but it's ideal for students and people starting out in photography, as well as professionals. You can also get the zoom lenses at a very affordable bargain prices as well. There is an excellent article at: http://www.petervis.com/interests/Photography/Camera%20Technology/Cannon%20FTb/Canon%20FTb.html It has some great close-up photographs of the actual camera and it's functions, and explains some of the basic operation of the camera such as loading the film and installing a new battery. Overall, ebay is the best place to buy this camera, and it's always a good idea to ask the seller questions as to the condition of the camera first before bidding. Ideally you want to get a Canon FTb that wasn't used much, with all of it's accessories.Read full review
