great printer - scanner also good and cheap to run using compatible cartridges rarely gets paper jams, works well at using printable discs - CD & DVD Drawbacks: B200 and U052 errors are prevalent - this is due to commands buried in the OS which count up usage and knobble the printer - they can be resolved if you look around the internet for the solutions Canon Technical Support are reluctant to admit there's an issue - the error messages are mainly "FAKE" - the U052 suddenly pops up telling you there's an incompatible print head fitted - this is a blatant LIE - the actual fault is the purge unit counter. This can be reset using procedures found by searching the Internet. The purge unit basically collects all the waste ink - Canon printers are notorious for generating large quantities of "waste ink" - which then soaks into the "purge unit" - when the counter perceives that the purge unti is full, the U052 error is generated. Disassembly of the printer allows you to remove and clean the purge unit, but you will also need to reset the counter in "Service Mode" Basically a great printer, with some nasty underhand things buried away in the design ... so long as you know how to resolve them, then I'd recommend the printer, otherwise a total waste of money Your choice ultimatelyRead full review

Having already wasted over £300 on an Epson (so called 'Proffessional') printer for it to clog up on its 2nd set of compatible inks, I was more than happy to pay a fraction of the price on this printer which not only has the same features as the Epson, but so far, I am on my 4th set of compatible inks and it still prints perfectly! Apparently, Epsin put some some sort of thickening or cligging solution in their original inks, so when you use the 'free' inks that come with the printer, and then use a compatible ink, some sort of chemical reaction takes place and the ink clogs and blocks the print nozzles! I don't know if all manufacturers do this but I have decided never to use original inks, EVER, so as to hopefully avoid this from happening again. Most importantly, after having spent £349 on their printer, Epson basically told me to throw it away and buy one of their cheaper models as they wanted nothing to do with me after using compatible ink! Now, if I had just spent £30 on a printer and did this, I could understand their reaction, but as this printer was damn expensive and the inks were the same inks that some of their budget models use, I expected some help, even if they charged me something for the service! Cannon in my experience are far better with their customer support, far more polite and as far as I can see, their printers are far sturdier and designed to work, not to break down at the first sign of foreign ink! The ink prices are just ridiculous nowadays, so if I cannot use a compatible ink, then I would rather buy cheap and throw away! A full set of Epson original inks for the other printer would actually cost more than this Cannon printer cost me to buy from new! That says it all! I use this printer to print from the net while away from the office and to print CD's as well and even some photos. The quality is better than the Epson, and without the added hassle of the jconstant jams and the ink problem! Oh yes, this also prints on both sides of the paper automatically and doesn't take a week to initialise itself like the Epson does! At this price, and this quality, believe me, you can't go wrong!Read full review
I think this Pixma MG5350, although old now is still one of the best in the range... It's quiet, easy to use, frugal with ink and it prints a pretty good photograph (I always print on A4 glossy... I particularly like the automatic drop down lid/paper support at the front, when "print" is pressed on the computer...What is there not to like about this printer...

Bought this to replace a broken Epson. This is much better in all aspects. It stands along side a HP D5460 and does prints just as well, but with cheap ink it is more economical to run than the HP Now owned this printer for 2 months and printed off over 600 high quality A4 photos,400 + normal office type prints. features double sided printing. Scanner is very good, As with all printers it takes a little trial and error to set it up for the first time. works fine with cheap chipped ink cartridges. I find it a brilliant all rounder well done Canon.
A good, easy to install and use all in one machine. Cheap seperate refills available. I like that it does not have to sit with paper hanging out of it all the time and that the delivery tray opens only when the printer is about to work. It doesn't close again by itself, but all in all it seems like a very economical, well made quiet and good looking unit.
