This printer is a really good printer, its very quick printing standard prints and pretty good when printing photos, even A3 sized. The only issue i have with the printer is that its doesnt have wireless feature and that when printing photos, there are some slight scratches along the image from the rollers. Whether this is due to it being an ex display model and needs cleaning, im yet to find out but overall im pretty happy with it. Not sure i would pay the price of a brand new one considering its lack of wireless. Ink seems to last a long time as well. Overall an excellent printer aside from its lack of wireless.
I bought this as an ex demo item, but it arrived with a full new set of inks, and a new print head! Edge to edge printing on A3+ the quality is very good for a home/small office printer. Plenty of sharpness for my 16Mp camera, and speedy and relatively quiet. A good deal better than my old Epson 1290 much quicker and brighter colours. My only reservation is the time it takes to do the "pre flight checks" before you can print, it is just a bit annoying if you are want to print out a quick A4 letter, hardly a reason to mark it down, all round a very good product at the right price.
In my opinion, having owned several printers over the years, this is a very good printer for the money, that will give you excellent quality photos and prints, up to A3+ in size. Looks pretty smart too. Good value, but it does have its downside,in that it's features are a lot less than some others on the market. No wireless connection, no card slots for printing direct from your camera memory card, and no display screen might be a problem to some people thinking of buying this printer. However, if you don't mind having to turn on your pc to use it, then you get some truly excellent prints, and its pretty fast, and reasonably quiet in operation too in comparison with some others. You can also get some third party ink cartridges that are "chipped" reasonably cheap. Just as well, because, if you print a lot at A3 and A3+ size, the ink goes very quickly. So, if you want to print photos at larger than A4, and don't mind having to turn on the pc to use it, then this is a fantastic printer.Read full review
I find thst thsi printer is excellent value. would recommend any one interested in printing the occasional A3 photograph to purches one . Print quality is as good as meny of the more expansive priners.
A great printer and well worth the money, have had a few Pixma printers before but the iX6550 is far the best, and great for the A3 pictures especially on canvas. Terry
