What to say about the casio Exilim Z750? it's no longer available new, has a low pixel count, and lacks some of the features you would expect in a modern digital camera. So why am I now on my third one? There are several reasons, 1. It is blisteringly fast to start up and take images. I have been so frustrated by more modern sophisticated cameras which seem to take 2 or 3 seconds just to prepare themselves, and when you press the shutter release the delay is so long that the action has happened and it's all over before the image is made. 2. There's a viewfinder. I have yet to find a camera which has a screen which you can see in bright light. I also feel stupid having to hold the camera at arm's length to take a shot. 3. It's got a proper metal body. Withstands lots of abuse. 4. Has some really useful features - I love the ability to playback video in slomo. really good for analysing sports action. There are some downsides. If you buy second hand - and there's no other option now - some cameras have been decidedly well used (and abused). Maybe best to buy from a dealer with support or return facilities rather than private. The docking base can be a pain if you want to recharge on the fly as well. These are minor niggles. Overall, I love this camera, and would have another like a shot. I believe that manufacturers are in danger of throwing out the baby with the bathwater, concentrating on unwanted features at the expense of the basic needs of speed and viewfinder.Read full review
Highly recommended. This camera is now available second hand for much much less than its original new price. When new, in 2005, this camera was "state of the art" and even in 2012 its features are still impressive. Of most significance is the speed with which shots are taken, I have owned a lot of digital cameras, and have tried dozens more in shops, and shutter lag has always been an issue. This camera is by far the fastest I have tried, virtually DSLR speed. It has lots and lots of features, including a range of manual options as well as a nice range of pre-set modes, including a number of gimmicks like sepia and monochrome as well as some really useful ones, such as the capacity to photograph business cards and whiteboards in a way which corrects distortion. Solidly built, with long lasting Li-ion battery and unusually, a docking station which charges the battery at the same time as the photos are transferred.Read full review
I already have a Casio EX-Z55 which I thought couldn't be beaten for its size, quality and features, then I bought a casio EX-Z750 on eBay. This is a dream with most of the features of the EX-Z55, including an eye level optical viewfinder, but a much easier camera to use and an extra couple of megapixels also (now 7.2). Moving some of the features from the menu as the EX-Z55 to an easy to use dial on the back of the EX-X750 was a winner for Casio. This makes it far easier to choose the type of picture you want to take from the selection of 'Best Pictures' available. I haven't used it to its full potential so far, but up to now I am very satisfied with my purchase. T.A.
I purchased this camera as a simple carry at all times item. It really does meet all my rquirements. It is extremely simple to use ,it's lightweight and modern to look at.The camera has the added advantage of a an optical viewfinder idel for composing pictures on a bright sunny day. The movie mode is first class, the sound playback is moderate, however when played back on your computer it's jst fine. The flash is more than adequate.A useful program is the monochrome mode you can create some wonderful foeboding pictures when using this program, especially of the sea.The battery life is excellent & reaction speed of the camera is very good. Forget about the megapixels you only require 12+ if you are blowing your prints up to A3 size. I have blown prints up to A4 size and the results compare favourably with my $600 camera. So if you see the Casio750 on offer below £50 buy it I can assure you will not be disappointed.Read full review
I purchased the Exilim Ex-750 after having owned a sony cybershot psc-73 that unfortunately broke, i can honestly say this camera outperforms the predecessor in every way! its far more compact, has a nice brushed metal case and the screen is far superior. The build quality in whole far surpasses that of the Sony also. The start uptime on this camera too is excellent, at under 1s for full start up including zoom. The picture quality is excellent, the menu control is easy to understand the the nice little ex button on the side of the camera allows easy and fast access to all of the common photographic settings. The video function on this camera is where it really excels though! although the sony having 30-fps in MPEG vx fine mode, the quality of the casio recordings is even superior! with the quality of images being noticeably better than that of the sony and other cameras i have seen. and with the ability to hold some 68 minutes of video on my 2gb sd card the video (and the battery!) will last for all of video needs, and is of high enough quality to use the majority of times over that of a standalone camcorder! Theres no need for any high speed sd cards either with this camera which is nice! my standard 2-gig Kingston card records the highest quality of videos available. The docking station auto charge feature is nice as well, and the tv leads that come with it are a nice feature as well for viewing slideshows and videos on your tv! although i would of liked a travel charger also, although i must say the battery life is excellent at 300+ shots. All in all this is an excellent camera and i would recommend it for anyone who is looking for a high spec, well built camera with outstanding video quality! and at a price that wont break the bank!Read full review
