Don't use a chainsaw without safety kit! Having never used a chainsaw before I was advised that safety gear was more important than saving money. But this kit has most of what you need, at a reasonable price. I would also recommend safety glasses (which came with my chainsaw) and tough boots to be sure. The chaps waistband tends to creep to the front while working: a useful mod is to use safety pins to hold the waistband in place onto the belt. Otherwise no complaints. I had reservations about buying the chaps rather than trousers, but it makes it easy to remove them in the heat, and keeps your rear end cooler. The helmet adjusts easily, although I didn't get on with the ear defender fit and adjustment, so chose not to use them. The kit is of good quality, "serviceable" for my use around my garden. Obviously not for every day use. Gloves are a little tight but should loosen with use. Helmet assembly is better than the one I bought to use with my brush cutter, better fit and ear defenders seem to be better at reducing noise too.
