There was no need to remaster this album. All the urgency and power of Cream's sound has been airbrushed out on this version. You might say that Disraeli is decidedly stuck in 2nd gear on an 'A' road. Having watched a BBC4 documentary recently about the band, Cream came over as uncompromisingly coarse and loud, definitely a live outfit first and foremost. So, all you genuine Cream fans out there, what do you reckon? I vote that this remaster is kept on the back shelf and the live and un-remastered Cream albums placed right at the front!
