The Danelectro Daddio offers a lot of power for those classic rock power riffs and also has a lot of range for the tone with adjustable controls for treble, bass and mids. This is one of the best pedals on my board and would recommend picking one up for those guitar tones that ring true to the 70's and 80's.

Excellent OD pedal keeps the natural sound of the guitar and amp and adds some dirt, you can get very little blues type dirt or you can crank the OD knob and she's full on distortion great classic distortion when fully cranked. Great control over the sound too because unlike most pedals that only have a tone knob, the Daddy O gives you adjustable bass, middle and treble. Great pedal I would replace it in a heartbeat if something happened to it.
I did not like the sound of this pedal until I did a few simple mods. Before modding, this pedal had a very nasty high end response and the overdrive was way too gritty (in a bad way) at lower settings. I did some surfing and found some suggestions for modifications. I opted to replace all the 0.22 uF electrolytic capacitors with equivalent value poly caps and, more importantly, replace the red LEDs with some 1N4454 diodes I had on hand. What a huge difference this made! I've got bucket loads of pedals ranging from cheap to boutique, amp have owned lots of great amps as a reference for comparison. While nothing can touch a great amp for tone and feel, this (modified) pedal is awesome. The maxed overdrive tone is much tighter and the lower overdrive settings are much smoother without the "spittiness" produced by the clipping of the red LEDs.Read full review
Tested the product with my home amp and definitely liked the quality of the pedal. Great amount of controls and tone for the price. Get a lot different variations of output and works great as a boost or a stand alone tone. A lot of bang for the buck

This pedal sounds very much like the original black case Marshall Guv'nor pedal. In fact, I have both in my pedal board and have them set up doe different amounts of gain. Very Marshally! Same controls as the Guv'nor but Gain and level controls are on opposite sides from the marshall pedal. Responsive controls. Built like a tank and at a fraction of the cost of the Marshall pedal. I now have 4 of these pedals!
