This is not really a how to cheat at cooking offering great tips and fab techniques to do things easier or faster - its a book about how to buy boxes and jars of things like brand named beans and waitrose cooks ingredients to put them together and make a lookey ok tasty ok dish - for instance ' use jus roll pastry to make snake and pigmy pie instead of making your own - be reasonable - who doesnt know that already? or use sainburys 3 cheeese sauce packet instead of making cheese sauce etc etc - I feel cheated, having siad that I am pretty sure they will work ok

I first bought Delia's 'How to Cheat at Cooking' when it came out some years ago. It revolutionised my approach to cooking! I had always been nervous of entertaining friends to dinner because of the difficulty sourcing ingredients and following complicated recipes, but Delia assured me that there was nothing wrong with 'cheating', ie buying ready-mixed sachets of spices or using tinned tomatoes, etc. Some of the original brands recommended in the first edition of this book are no longer available from the stockists listed at the back, but most of the big supermarkets have introduced their own versions of the ingredients, so it is still easy to follow the recipes and whip up the most spectacular and delicious meals. Love it!!
