One of the most entertaining and original comedy romance drama series of the 80s. It was very innovative and tried many different formats. It had some excellent musical accompaniments. The chemistry between Maddie Hayes and David Addison and maddie Hayes was often electrifying. The battle of the sexes was a rivetting and fiercely fought theme throughout. Rich independent ex-model Maddie Hayes and cool, suave, idependent private eye David Addison are at it again! You wouldn't have believed they could keep their on-off romance going (in between their work as detectives)for yet another series/ year but they have with very entertaining results - not to mention the roller-coaster ride. Excellent value on DVD. I can't wait to watch the next season again!
This was the series that Moonlighting went off the boil and is not nearly as good as Series 1-3. However for die hard moonlighting fans it is still definitely worth watching and leads to a better series 5. It was during filming this series that Bruce Willis was filming 'Die Hard' and Cybill Shepherd was pregnant with twins which meant that the two lead characters had to film their scenes 2 months apart - understandably causing plot problems for the writers to say the least. There are still some great episodes however - the Casablanca episode is a real gem. Extras include a great commentary from Cybill Shepherd and Roger Director which explains what was going on behind the scenes at the time, the challenges faced and the unique 'breaking the 4th wall' moonlighting habit. It also contains some touching reflections from Cybill on her moonlighting days. There is also a very entertaining commentary from Allyce Beasley (Agnes DiPesto) and Curtis Armstrong (Herbert Viola) revealing their perspective on the show.Read full review
