Wow I had no idea exactly how this video would be and watched it with an open mind. I was really impressed. As much as all of the movie was good I would have to say the end was truly the most poignant part where David goes into the Sanctuary, the Holy of Holies and appeals to God for His people;the movie then went in detail and showed you how close David was to God and of course David appealing to God in remembrance of those times as a youth; and even touching the Ark of the Covenant and then the long needed rain of blessing and forgiveness all in one. Truly a remarkable and beautiful account of this well loved story- It was good too that the story ended where it did as trouble only hit David's house once Solomon was born and of course the promise that he would be God's choice to build His Sanctuary. All told an excellent movie and I'm very pleased to have it in my collection.Read full review
Puerile, disappointing biblical epic with little (apart from the promised "cast of thousands") to justify the epic label. Short on action but long on moralising, it features Gregory Peck, grotesquely miscast as the Jewish king, and Susan Hayward whose affair with Peck incurs the wrath of God. Even the famed battle between David and Goliath is feeble and amateurish. It would take a miracle to save this turkey.
It is a classic film, with good actors. A true classic. The item was original and very clear. It was as advertised and do not repent buying it.
