I bought this hoping to see the Dean Forest Railway. The maker however seems intent on showing just about anything else but. This is a general video about railways that happens to use a small amount of footage from just the southern end as a sort of background to the rambling account of steam railways. If you are looking to see the Dean Forest Railway, which the title suggests you might, then save your money for someone else's offering. A disappointment and not recommended for the purpose the title indicates.
Although interesting to watch, much of this DVD is not directly relevant to the Dean Forest Railway. It covers everything from Stephenson to Brunel. From tunnels under the Pennines to bridges in Cornwall. Yet it only manages to feature one of Dean Forest Railway's engines. It also only visits half of the preserved line. If it were a long line I could perhaps understand, but it is only four and a bit miles long. I am very disappointed.
