Deanna Durbin plays Kim Walker, an aspiring actress, who bluffs her way into a part in a new play by pretending to be a protege of the star, John Sheridan (Charles Laughton), who she has actually only met long enough to ask for his autograph. Sheridan is very surprised when he returns home to find a party in her honour being held in his house. Some further machinations on her part cause him to allow her to keep the part in his play. Meanwhile, the author of the play (Franchot Tone) is not happy about having an unknown actress playing the star part. This is an amusing comedy with some wonderful funny scenes between Deanna Durbin and Charles Laughton, who are delightful together. One of Deanna Durbin's most entertaining films.
Good value. Enjoyable movie
