we had some driver problems to start. the system would not recognize the hard disks, the graphics card or the internal ethernet. we found the correct driver and now the hard drives and graphics card work, but not the ethernet port. we loaded windows 10 and ubuntu linux to dual boot from the hard drives. neither os recognized the internal ethernet. we searched for more drivers and tried them all, no go. the internal ethernet port must be fried. bought a pci ethernet card and installed it. both oses recognized the card and now we has ethernet. the system runs nicely. it is not a speed demon, but we don't need one. the graphics card is very nice. the 16gb of memory is nice with windows 10 (memory hog).

I purchased two of these, and am quite happy with them so far. I replaced the 1TB WD HDD with an SSD, and added a WD 5TB drive. I replaced the MS 7 with Debian 8.2-3, then with Linux Mint 17.3. Both are compatible, but Mint seems to be a better fit. I do some really heavy number crunching with my own software which is written to be multiprocessing in with all 8 cores in a three PC cluster and runs for hours. I am still testing out how long I can run at without overheating the box. I do this by inserting idle states. I have a ways to go to find the top utilization, as I am proceeding very carefully. But this type of usage is extremely rare, and only applies to people to would want to keep all cores at 97+% for long periods if they could do it without burning up a box. I have also used one of these boxes for what is generally considered to be intensive work (fractals, image processing, 3D mesh computations and similar work) and I can not imagine the average user needing more speed. I hear other people that do 3D printing processing complain about wait times, but using the same commercial software I find that the processing is almost always over in the blink of an eye. Depending on how my final CPU temps turn out, I may buy more of these boxes to fit in my cluster. Certainly seems the best value that I have found.Read full review

For the money, this is one of the best options for CAD, Graphics and other media-related editing for the price. Just remember that most older Dell systems don't have 2.5" drive bays or caddies so you'll need one if you want to use an SSD. Otherwise, you can use 2-sided tape.

I've been looking for a newer model of the Dell Precision series as my old one was getting outdated and decided to turn my old ond into a server. I got the Dell T3600 for only $50 plus shipping which is a much better deal than if I got it right from Dell. Thank you for providing a great product and I intend to bid with you guys again!

Very excellent desktop PC. The case had a metal brace inside which was in the way of putting a more powerful video card in, so I had to remove it. Other than that, the machine has been outstanding.
