The music is brilliant, as brilliant as it was in 1967, or even the 1980's when I first heard it on vinyl, but it is improved with the sensitive digital mastering. The depth to the sound has to beard to appreciated. The musical extras and a decent booklet add to the listening experience too.

Disraeli Gears is a perfect blend of blues and psychedelic rock from the seminal blues-rock band of the 60s, Cream. Their sophomore album features some of the great classics of British rock, "Strange Brew", "Sunshine of Your Love" and "Tales of Brave Ulysses". Clapton, Baker and Bruce are at their best and make a fine example of how powerful a band with only three members can be. Clapton's raw riffs, Bruce's inventive basslines and Baker's fiery drumming compliment each other surprisingly well. This remastered deluxe version retains the original psychedelic artwork by Martin Sharp but adds several bonus versions of the original songs. Disc One on this album is the stereo disc which contains a version of "Lawdy Mama" with the original lyrics, the song on which classic "Strange Brew" was based. Also included are a few extra stereo demos, a treat for any Cream fan. Disc Two is in mono sound but contains nine recordings of BBC sessions. These sessions are excellent and are worth the extra money for this deluxe version of the album. This is quintessential Cream and any fan of Cream or classic rock should own this album. 5/5Read full review
