I have never welded before and was afraid that I might have made a mistake buying this welder. I was very wrong!! I needed to weld some shelf brackets for a works cabinet that had the shelves a little too short. Done the job brilliantly and strong weld (after a bit of practice, of coarse).

This welder is built well, but would be so much better with a power control knob rather than to switches as it makes it impossible to turn power down enough to do thin gauge metal! The two switches it has to control just dont do enough...

I am not an expert welder, but I have used a mig for a few years. I had one (I think came from Halfords). I had nothing but trouble all the time I had it. It had a pathetic wire-feed system. Finally it blew 13 amp fuses, and that was it !! As soon as I saw the wire-feed on the "Draper" I knew it was quality, and it was.!! I had a trial weld with it and it welds better at Minimum setting than my last one did at MAX. (When it worked)
