From the Soft Machine to solo, Kevin was guaranteed to be good...and this cd is!
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
Not a massive back catalogue to chose from in order to make a compilation CD,but nonetheless, this is a decent mix. I had no other work by him so this turns out to be a good buy! If you want a snapshot of late 60`s physcodelic rock with his slant, then this hits the spot. To anyone born after about 1980,this stuff would sound extremely dated and is best avoided.
My brother tried for years to get me into Kevin. I resisted, mainly because of the gravely voice and odd musical variations. However, I listened to "the stranger in the blue suede shoes" and laughed and laughed. Lady Rachel is another good song. Some of the others are ok. This man hung around with Daevid Allen (gong) and steve hillage, mike oldfield etc - so he comes from that era of psychedelia and exploration. Might not be the most fave album, but worth a listen.
Wanted the CD as I have nevr heard much of his struff. Music a little dated but some good tracks, Very much in the Pink Floyd era!
