The Triton wetstone grinder is an excellent budget alternative to Tormak. It can run for hours without the motor getting too hot. It takes standard 12mm attachments from any manufacturer. The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is the inadequate instruction book - it doesn’t even tell you clearly how to start and stop the machine! (Never start/stop the motor with the torque mechanism engaged) nor how to properly true and dress the wheel. For the price I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to hollow grind their chisels, gouges and plane blades. And FFX are an excellent supplier who provide good after sales service.

Neither the stone nor the buffer is round nor centered. A lot of work and loss of stone will be needed to correct this. The clutch on the drive is very week so when changing the grit there is not enough resistance. Is it of good quality? Compared with the more expensive ones maybe not. Is it good value? As it is considerably cheaper than "the better ones" I would say it is good value. If quality and absolute precision is not paramount then I would recommend it.
