I have a varied musical taste and number Elvis Costello among those whom I have an interest in. I am aware that he not only performs the songs but writes them as well. This particular CD is a fine example of his dual role, of the 18 tracks, he performed them all, wrote 14, co-wrote 1, which left only 3 he did now write. A number of the tracks I had not heard before. I have listened a number of times to the CD and I must say that I have not been disappointed at all and I have enjoyed listening to the "new songs" as well as the ones I have heard. Easy listening and a CD I will play often. Highly recommended.
Brilliant C.D. Elvis Costello at his best, all the hits ,tracks such as Pump it up , Oliver's army and I can't stand up for falling down won't fail to get your feet tapping and you singing along , to the quieter Alison and New Amsterdam , a must for any collection .
I am not really a Costello fan , but this is a very good introduction to him and 'best of' from his early days up to 1985. It has his hits which suits me. I am sure that Costello fans could give a better opinion of the content based on his output up to 1985 but if you just want the hits and a bit more this is fine.
