The Epson R800 is one of the few printers that can print wide panoramas on roll paper. I use my Canon powershot to take a series of panoramas and stitch them together using PhotoStitch, and I print them on 4" roll paper, usually about 24" wide. I bought an Epson refurbished, which did not work on arrival (heads could not be successfully cleaned). I took it to an Epson authorized service center who replaced the print head under warranty. Worked great when I got it back. Visually, can't see a difference between prints from previous 3-color ink Stylus photo 925. Both sets look beautiful. After printing, the next day the heads were clogged, and I had to do a head cleaning before it would print again. Paper handling, especially roll paper, works very well. It's a bit temperamental, bit does print great looking photos.Read full review
I'm a professional photographer and I've been using Epson printers for the last 7 years. I've had the R800 for about 4 weeks now and I have to tell you it is one of the finest small, moderately-priced ($399 MSRP) printers I have ever used. Like its big brother, the R1800 which I also have, it consistently give me excellent print quality at a rate of under 2-minutes per 8x10 on Epson Premium Glossy paper. And it's relatively quiet. While it works with other papers (I got good results with Ilford and Kodak Professional), it gets the best quality with the Epson Premium photo papers. I print anywhere from 25 to 80 8x10s per job and I've never been disappointed. Just make sure before starting a large job that you use the Epson maintenance software utility and check the heads for alignment and whether or not they need cleaning. Finding one on ebay is easy. If you can find a refurbished unit like I did, it's usually a great bargainRead full review

If you are an artist with a limited budget, this printer will create very good letter size prints. The quality is above average and the ink will keep your print around for a long time. While most printers use dye-based inks, this master printer uses pigment ink. With the R800, you can't go wrong.
This printer prints amazing quality and is very compact and durable. We highly recommend this for business or personal use. It prints very fast and we love it! Epson is the best
