Everclear's fifth studio album, and the closer to the American Movie concept. Overall I see this as Everclear's weakest link, the tracks don't seem to flow as well as their other albums. Along with that it's as if something was missing during this album, that may be due to that fact it was released too soon after Vol. One allowing little time to master, mix, and all that jazz properly. The album does start off on the right foot; however, with the lead single "When it All Goes Wrong Again", and it all does after this. Upon listening to this album over and over again I found a little gem in "Short Blonde Hair", but it's not enough to change my opinion. The album continues to drag until "The Good Witch of the North" a love song Art wrote for his then girlfriend, now ex-wife. Another slump, and then the gems of the album are found in the last two tracks, "Overwhelming", which was a solo song Art did for the Permanent Midnight soundtrack, and "Song From An American Movie Pt. 2". The last two tracks seem to have what the rest of the album is missing, emotion. They are the types of tracks Everclear has been defined by, and they help make this album a little more worthwhile. Though it's not exactly a bad album, as Art was trying something a new with a more punk sound, it isn't exactly too good either. A nice album for fans of harder rock with an alternative sound. Stand-out tracks: "When it All Goes Wrong Again", "Rock Star", "Overwhelming", "Song From an American Movie Pt. 2"Read full review
