Item arrived on time, the description is mostly accurate. As looked possible from the wording, the barometer function is part of the partner base station, not the supplied sensor. Instructions can be found online searching for the Ambient Weather WS-1285 which includes this sensor. RTL-433 decodes the protocol as Fineoffset-WH5.

  • RfLink connectivity

The sensor should soon be supported in RfLink Firmware (for home automation) Tried with beta release and gets data from sensor. Addressing seem to support many units in a RfLink network. (still needs to be tested at time of writing) Sensor changes adress when changing batteries (no dip switches) Readings seem accurate Red led on front that blinks when transmitting data. Sturdy plastics with a battery compartment screw and a foot stand that can be detached and sensor mounted on wall

  • Works well. Good value.

Works well with RFXCOM RFXtrx433XL and HomeSeer. You need to enable the 'FineOffset' protocol for the RFXtrx433XL. To do that in homeseer, select plugins->RFXCOM->RFXtrx, press UPDATE on the line with your receiver, then select the RFXCOM tab and enable 'FineOffset,Viking'. After a few minutes, look in Plugins->RFXCOM->Input devices, choose the sensor from the dropdown showing 'devices to add'. Then (also from Plugins->RFXCOM->Input devices) on the row showing your temperature sensor, press the button under the 'update' column then select the RFXCOM tab and set a calibration of -40.

  • Good Product

Product is good - I find it difficult to position it for reliable effect, This is probably due to weather conditions and proximity of wind turbine.

  • Extra sensors

Easy to setup and does everything it is supposed to. Really excellent way to expand your weather reporting - either internal or outside. Excellent price and rapid posting. Highly recommended.
